How this happened
Most short films play a few festivals and then sit on a hard drive. Alexander Beale sent us a four-minute horror short. It found an audience here, and this summer we co-financed and produced the sequel he had been dreaming of.

October 18, 2026
Four days out, The Weekend Read texts Alexander Beale five questions: the new form the Ticket-Taker takes, the visual effects hiding in almost every shot, and the right way to watch on Thursday. 4K, and in the dark.
