Submit your film – PREVO

Submit your film

Great films shouldn't sit on hard drives.

A short film screens at a festival or two, collects a laurel, and then disappears. PREVO exists to give it what comes next – a permanent home, a paying audience, and a competition judged by people who can actually hire you. Every genre, students and professionals alike, documentaries included.

Why submit to PREVO

A premiere, an audience that votes, and judges who can actually hire you.

Curated

Screened, not uploaded

A person watches every film before it premieres. Your work joins a curated catalogue of 130+ shorts – not an algorithmic feed where good work sinks without a trace.

Premiered

Your film, your network

When your film goes live we tag you and your cast, and cover it editorially in The Weekend Read and First Frame. You also get a promo code to hand out, so the people who worked on it can actually watch it.

Voted

Subscribers pick the nominees

Members watch and vote across all five categories. The most-voted film in each becomes a Nominee. Catalogue films are entered automatically – there is no separate competition form.

Judged live

Decided by working professionals

Nominees go to an industry panel – Spring's came from UTA, HarperCollins Productions and Media Talent Group. They choose the winners and reveal them live on stream, each with the reasoning behind the pick.

The terms, plainly

No fee, no royalties, and you keep your film.

Most platforms make you read six pages to find this out. Here it is up front, before you spend two minutes on a form.

What stays yours

  • Your festival run. Festivals sit entirely outside our terms. Keep submitting anywhere you like.
  • Your own channels. Vimeo, your reel, your website, your portfolio – unrestricted.
  • Direct sales. You can sell the film to your own audience per-transaction and keep every cent.
  • The film itself. You hold the copyright. We are a licensee, never an owner.
  • The exit. Want it down? Fourteen days' notice and it comes down.

What we ask for

  • A one-year licence to stream the film on PREVO. That's the term – it isn't perpetual.
  • No fee in either direction. You don't pay to submit and the licence is royalty-free.
  • One limit, and only one: during the licence year, don't put the film on a directly competing curated short-film subscription platform without checking with us first.
  • Permission to promote you – stills, clips and your name across our social, editorial and competition coverage.

Nothing is signed on this page. If your film is a fit we send the actual licence to read before anything is agreed – it's a two-minute document, in plain English. Questions first? submissions@prevostreaming.com

How it works

From the form to the ceremony.

01

Submit

A link to your film or the file itself, a logline, and a few details. About two minutes.

02

We watch it

A person screens every submission. We follow up within seven days either way – you always get an answer.

03

Licence & premiere

We send the licence, collect your file and poster, and give the film a real premiere with you and your cast tagged.

04

Subscribers vote

When the next competition opens, members vote across the five categories. The top film in each becomes a Nominee.

05

Judges decide, live

Nominees go to the industry panel, who pick the winners and announce them on a livestreamed ceremony.

Submitting today? Your film joins the catalogue as soon as it's screened, and premieres from there. The Summer Showcase is already in its voting window, so films arriving now are in the running for the next competition instead – automatically, with nothing extra to enter. Send us your film

What you'll need

Two minutes, and the film does the rest.

The whole form is four fields and a link. Nothing else is required to submit.

  • A link to your film, or the file itself. Vimeo, Google Drive, WeTransfer – whatever you already have. Make sure we can actually open it.
  • A one-line logline. One sentence is plenty.
  • Runtime and year.
  • Your contact details, and who the licence would be in the name of if we take it.

Before you send

Three things that hold films up.

Almost every submission we can't take is held up by one of these. Sorting them out first saves us both a fortnight.

  • Music has to be cleared for streaming. Original score, public-domain, or a library subscription like Musicbed or Artlist is fine – just confirm it covers commercial and OTT use. A needle-drop you didn't licence means we can't put the film up, however good it is.
  • The film needs to be finished. We can't screen a rough cut or a temp mix fairly. If it isn't done, finish it and send it then – we'd genuinely rather wait.
  • You need to hold the rights. If the film belongs to a production company, a school or a co-producer, loop them in before you submit so the licence goes in the right name.

That's everything. Send us the film.

Beyond the competition

The competition has a deadline. PREVO doesn't.

We take short films year-round for the catalogue – no competition entry required and nothing to wait for between cycles. Same curated library, same audience, same editorial coverage in The Weekend Read.

And there is no gap to fall into. Every film in the catalogue is automatically in the running for the next competition, so a film that arrives the day after a deadline isn't sitting out – it's already entered in what comes next.

Who can submit

Any filmmaker, any background, any genre. Students, graduates, professionals. Narrative, documentary, experimental, animation.

Length

PREVO is a shorts platform. If your film runs over an hour, send it anyway and we'll talk about fit.

Already streaming elsewhere?

Usually fine. If the film is already public somewhere you can't unlist, we'll offer a non-exclusive licence instead.

Mid-festival run?

No conflict. Festivals sit outside our terms entirely – keep submitting.

How to submit

The submission form, any time. We review on a rolling basis.
