Last updated: October 3, 2026

PREVO ("PREVO," "we," "us," or "our") operates prevostreaming.com and the PREVO apps for iOS and Android (together, the "Service"). PREVO is a curated streaming service for independent and student short films, and it also runs film competitions and publishes The Weekend Read newsletter. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

If you have any questions, email us at prevo@prevostreaming.com.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us.

  • Account information: your name, email address, and password when you create an account or start a subscription or free trial.

  • Payment information: card and payment details are collected and processed directly by our payment processor, Stripe, and by any installment provider you choose at checkout. We do not receive or store your full card number. We may receive limited billing details such as card type, the last four digits of your card, expiration date, and billing country or postal code.

  • Competition activity: the votes you cast and related activity when you take part in a PREVO competition.

  • Film submissions: if you submit a film, the information you provide on our submission form, such as your name, email, film details, links, and credits, and any licensing paperwork you sign with us.

  • Communications: messages you send us by email, through our website, or through social media, including Instagram direct messages, some of which may be answered by automated messaging tools.

  • Optional information: anything else you choose to give us, such as answers to optional questions at checkout, profile details, or comments.

Information collected automatically.

  • Device and usage information: IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, approximate location derived from your IP address, referring web address, pages you view, links you click, and the dates and times of your visits.

  • Viewing activity: the films you watch on the Service and your playback progress, which we use to run the Service (for example, to resume where you left off) and to understand what our audience is watching.

  • Cookies, pixels, and similar technologies: described in Section 3.

2. How we use your information

  • To provide, operate, and maintain the Service, including streaming, your account, and customer support.

  • To process payments, free trials, subscriptions, renewals, and gift cards.

  • To run competitions, including verifying eligibility, counting votes, and preventing duplicate or fraudulent voting.

  • To review, license, and present films submitted by filmmakers.

  • To send you account and transactional messages, and, where permitted, newsletters and marketing emails (including The Weekend Read), which you can unsubscribe from at any time.

  • To measure, analyze, and improve the Service.

  • To advertise PREVO on other platforms and measure how well those ads work, as described in Section 3.

  • To protect the security of the Service, prevent fraud and abuse, and comply with the law.

We may also create aggregated or de-identified information, such as total views, completion rates, or vote totals for a film, and share it with filmmakers, partners, or the public. This information does not identify you.

3. Cookies, pixels, and advertising

Cookies on our Service. Our website uses cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for it to work, such as keeping you signed in, remembering your session, completing checkout, applying promotions, and protecting against fraud. Our streaming and payment providers also use cookies to deliver and measure video playback and to secure payments.

Meta Pixel and Conversions API. We use the Meta Pixel, an advertising and measurement tool provided by Meta Platforms, Inc. (the company behind Facebook and Instagram), on our website. This means we and third parties, including Meta, may use cookies, pixels, web beacons, and other storage technologies to collect or receive information from our website and elsewhere on the internet, and use that information to provide measurement services and to target ads.

When you visit our website, the Meta Pixel may send Meta information such as:

  • your IP address, browser, and device information;

  • the web addresses (URLs) of the pages you visit on our website, which can include the title of a film's page;

  • actions you take on our website, such as viewing a page, starting checkout, creating an account, starting a free trial, subscribing, or making a purchase, along with details like the plan name and price;

  • identifiers stored in Meta cookies and Meta ad-click identifiers; and

  • contact information, such as your email address, in hashed (scrambled) form, used by Meta for matching.

We also use Meta's Conversions API, which sends certain events, such as a completed checkout or subscription, from our servers directly to Meta. These events can include the plan and amount along with your hashed email address, IP address, browser information, and Meta click identifiers, so that Meta can tell us whether one of our ads led to that signup.

If you are logged in to Facebook or Instagram, Meta may be able to connect this information to your Meta account. We use it to measure our ads, to show PREVO ads to people who have visited our website, to avoid showing sign-up ads to people who already subscribe, and to find new audiences who may be interested in PREVO. We may also share hashed email addresses of our users with Meta to create or exclude advertising audiences. Meta's use of this information is governed by Meta's own Privacy Policy, available at facebook.com/privacy/policy.

The Meta Pixel runs on our website. Purchases made through Apple or Google in our mobile apps are handled by those app stores and are not tracked by the Meta Pixel.

We do not sell or rent your personal information for money. Some state privacy laws, however, treat the use of advertising pixels as "targeted advertising," "sharing," or a "sale." Section 4 explains how to opt out.

4. Your choices

  • Opt out of ad targeting on Meta: you can manage how Meta uses information from other websites, including ours, in your Meta Accounts Center under Ad preferences and "Your activity off Meta technologies." Visit facebook.com/adpreferences.

  • Industry opt-out tools: you can opt out of interest-based advertising from participating companies through the Digital Advertising Alliance at optout.aboutads.info, the Network Advertising Initiative at thenai.org/opt-out, and, in Europe, youronlinechoices.eu.

  • Browser controls: most browsers let you block or delete cookies, and many offer tracking protection. If you block all cookies, parts of the Service, such as signing in and checkout, may not work.

  • Ask us directly: email prevo@prevostreaming.com with the subject "Ad opt-out" and we will stop including your email address in any advertising audiences we share with Meta and will honor your request as required by applicable law.

  • Emails: every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link. Even if you unsubscribe, we will still send account and transactional messages, such as receipts and password resets.

  • Your account: you can update your details in your account settings. You can permanently delete your account from your account Profile page ("Delete My Account"). If you subscribed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, cancel the subscription there first, because app store subscriptions are managed separately.

Our website does not currently respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals.

5. How we share information

We share personal information only as described in this policy:

  • Service providers that help us run PREVO, under their own privacy and security commitments. These include Uscreen (our video platform, which hosts the website and apps and manages accounts and subscriptions), Stripe and any installment provider you choose (payments), Mux (video delivery and playback analytics), Mailchimp (email), Substack (our newsletter archive), Tally and Google Workspace (film submissions and internal operations), and ManyChat (Instagram messaging).

  • App stores: if you subscribe in our iOS or Android apps, Apple or Google processes your payment under its own terms and privacy policy.

  • Advertising partners: Meta, as described in Section 3.

  • Public features: content you choose to post publicly, such as comments or community posts and your display name, can be seen by other users. Competition results may be shown publicly as vote totals or rankings.

  • Legal and safety: when we believe it is required by law or legal process, or needed to protect the rights, property, or safety of PREVO, our users, or others.

  • Business changes: if PREVO is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization (including a change in our legal entity), or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction and will remain subject to this policy.

  • With your consent or at your direction.

6. How long we keep information

We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account, your identifying information (such as your name and email) is removed from our platform, generally within 30 days. We may keep transaction records in de-identified form, and we may keep information longer where we need to for tax, accounting, legal, or fraud-prevention reasons. Information already received by Meta or other third parties is kept under their own policies.

7. Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, including encryption of data in transit (TLS/SSL), and payment card information is handled by PCI DSS compliant payment processors. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please use a strong, unique password for your PREVO account.

8. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, including in certain U.S. states, the European Economic Area, and the United Kingdom, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to opt out of targeted advertising, "sales," or "sharing" of personal information. To make a request, email prevo@prevostreaming.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding, and we will respond within the time required by applicable law. If we decline your request, you may appeal by replying with the subject "Appeal." We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process your information to perform our contract with you, for our legitimate interests in operating and promoting the Service, to comply with legal obligations, and with your consent where required. You may withdraw consent at any time and may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Where your information is processed. PREVO is based in the United States, and our service providers primarily store data in the United States. If you use the Service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.

10. Third-party sites and services

The Service links to sites and services we do not control, such as Instagram, Substack, and filmmakers' own websites. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the new version on this page and change the "Last updated" date. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through a notice on the Service.
